Cristin McKenna, LMSW, is a licensed social worker and member of the clinical team at Rappore, a therapy services and medication management practice based in Manhattan, New York.
Cristin believes that the goal of therapy is to help her clients obtain the insight and coping skills they need to lead meaningful and satisfying lives. She uses a non-judgmental, collaborative, and empathic approach to help her clients identify their innate strengths to take control over their thoughts and emotions. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, she helps her clients understand negative behavior patterns or perceptions that may be holding them back from experiencing more fulfilling lives. Cristin works with her clients to empower themselves and to make positive changes towards a path of deeper healing, growth, and well-being.
Cristin earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology and Masters in Social Work from Boston College. She has worked with adults diagnosed with complex mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, substance use, bipolar, ADHD, and personality disorders. She has experience working in various clinical settings including psychiatric hospital, residential treatment, and outpatient dual diagnosis programs. She implements evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and motivational interviewing to best meet her clients’ needs.
