Danae is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Danae is passionate about creating a safe and non-judgmental space for her clients. She is committed to helping her clients identify and navigate their feelings, learn healthier coping skills, and ultimately find hope and heal.
Danae has worked with adults and adolescents with eating disorders, substance and behavioral addictions, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, codependency, trauma, anxiety, and depression. She has experience working in many levels of care including psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs. She has received extensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for both group and individual sessions. She implements evidence-based treatment modalities such as DBT, CBT, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic psychotherapy depending on her clients’ needs.
Danae earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in health and behavioral health from the University of Houston. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Minor in Criminal Justice from The University of Alabama. She has worked overseas in Ghana at a psychiatric unit for her internship in undergrad and has done service work in various countries such as India and Nicaragua.
